Alternative Options for Sold-out DrupalCamp Philadelphia
July 26, 2009 - 12:03pm
Well I was one of the unlucky newbies who did not make the cut for the DrupalCamp Philadelphia so I thought of 3 possible options:
- Alternate - There are 80 of you signed up and surely one of you will get an unexpected conflict and be unable to attend. If the organizers approve, you can contact me at my username at yahoo dot com and I'd be delighted to go as your alternate. I'd even provide you with a refund (since I'd get your lunch:). This offer stands up until and including Friday, the day of the event since I'll probably be on campus with my laptop.
-
Podcast - It would be nice if someone could video the event or perhaps a few of the sessions. I'm particularly interested in:
-
Meet Drupal
Drupal Community Awesomeness
Solving (almost) All of Your Problems with CCK and Views
Making a Photo Gallery
Drupal 7: What's In It For You - Alt Session - Perhaps others who didn't make the cut might be interested in meeting at a public hotspot on or near campus to discuss Drupal over breakfast or lunch.
Thanks,
Larry

Side Note: Split Summary Issue [#225608]
Not that it matters here since there are no teasers (I think), but I tried to split my post right before the unnumbered list in point 2 and noticed that it wasn't splitting where the cursor was (immediately following the colon). I ultimately had to place the cursor 4 or 5 characters before the colon to get the split after the colon. I tracked this down as Issue[#225608].
Should I add a comment on the issue for my findings or is it sufficient that it has already been logged?
Thanks,
Larry Esposito

When I registered, there was no option to pay the $20, but the email address I registered with for the camp did receive a "Thank you for registering for Philly Drupal Camp!" email. This is a different account than my usual groups.drupal.org one, so I assumed that meant I was actually registered. Am I registered, or am I in the same boat as the other Larry?
In either case, it seems like there has been some reasonable confusion here, and in future years, I suggest not using the term "register" to mean more than one thing.
